Yes it was a very busy day. Temps climbed into the high 40’s here but in Denver it reached into the 60s and low 70s. The forecast is calling for these temps to remain and may also be higher. This is one of the reasons we are leaving tomorrow morning. In the town, construction workers are using the mild temps to work on various projects that had been hindered by the cold and snow. We have the car 90% packed and after breakfast tomorrow, we will finish packing. We should have GREAT weather for at least the next 3 days. This will allow us to get more than half way home. This will be my last report for this trip. It was fun and I hope you enjoyed reading this blog.

We have skied our last day this morning. We have looked at the weather forecasts and found a good 5 day travel period coming up starting on Saturday. So this was our last for the season. We went to Keystone this morning and the snow plows were still out there grooming the trails. This made for good skiing. After returning home, we started the process of packing and loading the car. I brought our skis and boots over our friends house to keep for us until next season.   We then brought some clothes that we will not be using anymore to the local shelter along with some food. In the evening, on our way down to the Dam Brewery, we stopped at the local stream and watched the raging water. We then said good bye to all our friends. It has been a great year. Tomorrow will be a very busy day getting ready to leave on Saturday

Another Blue Bird morning. I haven’t had to clean off my car in days. And with no snow in the forecast until Sunday, there will be a lot of melting and refreezing in the morning. There are many signs of the melting snow and ice especially the Ice Castles. They will be closing this weekend because of the weather. We went to Copper Mtn in the afternoon and walked the village and when to JJ’s and saw the Lefty Lucie show which includes dancing on the bar and of course the shot ski. As we were returning to the car thru the village we saw a remarkable sight. It was a railing that had about a foot of snow just hanging from it. Just reminds you to always be careful. It was another funday.

It was a blue bird morning. Temps held in the morning in the mid teens, while climbing to around 35 by mid afternoon. We went to Keystone and while the skiing was ok, Spring conditions started to emerge. On many of the trails, frozen chunks of ice appeared after the grooming process. We will start to see this especially next week with daylight savings time starting. We skied for a couple of hours and called it a day. In the afternoon we started our process of determining when to start our trip home. We have about 10 days left on our lease. But we have to look at the weather forecasts because the trip will take us 5 days to return home. We are looking at the best 5 day period which sometimes isn’t easy. In the newspaper next to the forecasts was a story about a women who was charged with wildlife harassment for touching a moose that was walking down the streets of Breckenridge. Never knew there was a law on the books. Still no snow in the forecast and it will continue to be very mild ...

Well the snow is back for at least one day. Overnight we received about 3 inches of the white stuff. But instead of the light fluffy snow , we received heavy wet stuff which froze made cleaning the car a little harder. Because of the light conditions, white snow against a back round of white clouds, we didn’t ski today. We did laundry and a little food shopping. But in the local newspaper, night skiing is going to be extended to include Mondays and Tuesdays. Maybe we will go NIGHT skiing. There was light snow most of the afternoon and then around 4pm, the clouds parted and it was a beautiful evening. We went to the Dam Brewery for our usual Monday night get together and we are hoping for a Blue Bird morning. No snow in the forecast for the next few days and mild temps to continue.

The day started with overcast conditions with mild temps. The sun didn’t come out all day and there were occasional snow flurries and some rain drops. It was another big snow melt day. There were ponds of melted snow everywhere. After Mass this morning we walked by the lake and saw many families out in the snow with one family making a castle out of snow blocks. It was a very lazy afternoon. As we got ready to go out to the Sauce Restaurant for happy hour around 5pm, it started to snow and we quickly changed our plans and stayed in. The forecast called for snow starting late afternoon and continuing into tomorrow morning. As we looked out our back window, we saw a continuous line of cars coming from Keystone and trying to get East bound on I70.The sign indicated that it was at least a 2 hour trip. I am glad that we don’t need to make this trip.

The morning started under blue skies and mild temps. It will be another snow melt day. To start off, we went to breakfast at the Sunshine Restaurant. They have great pancakes. After breakfast we walked by the lake and then went to the Silverthorne Recreational center and walked/ran on the track. After returning home we had a big lunch and then went to Keystone to see the crowds. All of the parking lots including the North lot were filled and they were sending the overflow to something called the Blue Power Line lot. I have no idea where this was. At the Mountain house, the crowds were unbelievable. I have   never seen so many kids and families. Glad we didn’t try and go skiing today. Around 4pm, we went to the Dam Brewery for cocktails before going to a local Mexican restaurant for dinner. It was a long and tiring day. Tomorrow is suppose to be more of the same weather conditions.
